Mekka A. White is the founder and CEO of MAW Casting. Growing up, Mekka never saw herself as someone to ever be in the entertainment industry. She was actually a very quiet shy, reserved and introverted individual. She got her first taste of entertainment when she became an athlete competing in track and field, and cross country. She gained a lot of attention and recognition in high school, and college athletics as she won many races and titles.

After finishing up with undergraduate school, and collegiate athletics, Mekka went on to get her Masters in Gerontology with hopes of going to Medical School to become a Geriatric Physician. Once Mekka graduated with her Masters, she moved back to Los Angeles, where she was raised. Life took some turns, she stopped pursing Medical School, and soon picked up acting and modeling as a form of therapy. She liked it more than she could ever imagine, but better yet people liked her! Mekka shortly began getting booked on different productions and projects for acting, modeling, and voice over work.

Like other artist in LA, Mekka spent/spends a lot of time going to auditions, and submitting self- tapes. She had the desire to make some of her own productions, so she started a small production company called, MAW Vision. To go hand, and hand with her production company, she started MAW Casting to cast for it, as well as other outside productions.

Mekka’s goal as a casting director is to bring talent to productions. Also, since she has and continues to experience the lifestyle of a working, and continuously auditioning talent, she wanted to make castings and auditions just as good for talent by: being very informative and detailed with projects, having a friendly and professional personality and business, and by lending a helping hand to help join talent and productions together.
